Francis Richard Beckert, 89, of Cadiz, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 25, 1934 in Zanesville, Ohio a son of the late Francis W. and Emma Virginia Chapman Beckert.
Richard, along with his wife Nancy Beckert were the retired owners and operators of the former Finnical’s Pharmacy in Cadiz, Ohio. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, graduate of Ohio Northern University where he was a member of the Phi Mu Delta Fraternity and the Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity, the Ohio State Pharmaceutical Association, Cadiz Country Club, Past Master of Harrison Lodge #219 F.&A.M., the Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Ohio Genealogical Society, Life Member of the NRA where he was an NRA Benefactor and NRA Golden Eagles.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Finnical Beckert and a brother, James David Beckert.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard Dennis Beckert of Lake Stevens, Washington; daughter, Deborah Anne McDonough of Celina, Ohio; 4 grandchildren: Richard Nathaniel Beckert, Lauren Nicole (Luke) McDonough Bowsher, Ryan David McDonough and Benjamin Robert McDonough.
Calling hours will be held on Friday January 12, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, 172 South Main Street, Cadiz where funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Leo Gonot officiating. Masonic Service will be held on Friday at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
