FRIDAY, AUG. 2 – The Harrison County Coroner’s Office said this morning the body of Porter was sent to the Cuyahoga Medical Examiner’s Office and no further details would be released until the toxicology report was filed. She said that could take months.

Lt. Bobby Smith of the  New Philadelphia Fire Department Dive Team were called in around 6:30 a.m. Monday. He said prior to that sonar was used for locating objects under water and two potential sites came up.

Smith said Porter’s body was not located from those two sites but very close to them. He said all departments worked really well together.

“We were happy to be there to help them,” Smith said.

HARRISON COUNTY (Monday July 29)- The Harrison County Sheriff stated that the Sheriff’s office was dispatched to locate a Leonard Porter whom had not been seen since 3:30pm this day, and supposedly had gone fishing. Leonard had a favorite place to go fishing along the Stillwater creek just off of SR.800 just south of Tippecanoe.

After searching from Midnight to approximately 10am Leonard was recovered from Stillwater creek.
