Charles Leonard Wycoff, 76, of Hopedale, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oc.t 19, 1939 in New Cumberland, W.Va. to the late Percy and Margaret (Bailey) Wycoff.
Leonard graduated in 1957 from New Cumberland High School. He retired from Weirton Steel and he was a member of the WS 25 Year Club, a charter member of the Hopedale Sportsman’s Club, life member Jewett Sportsman’s Club, and a 40 year member of NRA.
He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman and Ginseng and mushroom hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marge Tice, and Audrey Greathouse.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Shirley (Reed) Wycoff of Hopedale; four daughters, Terri (Rick) Kennedy of Powell, OH., Judy (Tom) Dent of Hopedale, Sue Nissley of Plain City, OH. and Cindy (Grant) Kemp of Richmond; a son, Doug Wycoff of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peg (Okey) Lancaster of Weirton, and Myla (Tom) Staley of New Cumberland; and canine companion, Molly.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-6 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in New Cumberland, W.Va. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17. Pastor Craig Greathouse will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
