A press release issued by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office says that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at the Hilltop General Store in Tippecanoe last week.

The press release states in part: On Saturday, Oct. 24, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office along with the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Reservoir Hill Rd., in Flushing, Ohio. The search warrant was executed in connection with the armed robbery of the Hilltop General Store. Officers located several items they believe are connected with this case. Officers seized firearms as well as other evidence from the Hilltop General Store. An AK-47 is among the evidence seized.

Officers also located the suspects’ vehicle, a 2001 gold Ford Ranger extended cab, which the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on State Route 9 when the driver fled from police and a pursuit ensued. The suspects’ vehicle then struck a guard rail and a deputy’s cruiser, as well as an uninvolved motorist. The suspect vehicle then came to rest on Route 9 near Fairpoint, Ohio. The driver fled on foot and was taken into custody, the passenger was also secured and both were transported to the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, Nickolas Billman of Reservoir Hill Road, Flushing, will be transported to Harrison County to face charges in the armed robbery. Authorities have questioned Billman and he will be charged for the armed robbery of the General Store. The Ford truck was also seized as evidence in the case.
