CADIZ – Harrison Central High School’s theater troupe is putting on its dancing shoes for the upcoming production of “Footloose: The Musical.”
Performances are set for May 9-10 at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. The production tells the story of Ren McCormack (Kyle Dodds), who relocates with his mother from Chicago to the small town of Beaumont. It is a repressive place where dancing is banned, but the high-stepping Ren wants to change all of that. He finds himself at odds with Rev. Shaw Moore (Parnell Sheldon), the father of new friend Ariel (Abby Dodds).
The cast also includes Charleigh Harding as Ethel McCormack and Bickle; Sheryl Eckroth as Vi Moore; Ronna Orr as Lulu Warnicker and Betty Blast; Raven Cruz as Rusty; Kylee Rose as Uncle Wes and Travis; Kyle Neimeyer as Coach Dunbar, Cowboy Bob and the cop; Karli Ray as Urleen; Bailie Ray as Wendy Jo; Danier Hunt as Chuck Cranston; Therion Stokes as Lyle; D.J. Jones as Willard Hewitt; Katie Stackhouse as Principal Clark; Kurt Neimeyer as Jeter; Harding and Orr as Cowboy Bob’s band; and Alexia Dowdle, Rachel Morrison, Mariah Kuryn as chorus. Jonah Rodgers is stage manager with lights by Dylan Rayl and Madeena Piergallini, Vanessa Moyer and Drew Mizer as stagehands.
The production is in conjunction with R&H Theatricals.
