CADIZ – Apologies to the Fair Board and all News-Herald readers for the incorrect information on truck and tractor pulls at the Harrison County Fair featured in last weeks edition.
The Harrison County Fair will feature truck and tractor pulls Friday, July 5, and Saturday, July 6. A pedal tractor pull will also be held Saturday, July 6.
Friday’s pull will begin at 6 p.m. with weigh-in starting at 5 p.m. featuring the following classes: 5,500# Farm Stock Tractors (60% payback); 7500# Farm Stock Tractors (60% payback); 6,500# Open Street 4X4 Trucks ($600 purse – 6 places); 9,500# Farm Stock Tractors (60% payback); 8,500# Light Pro Stock Tractors (COPTA Rules) ($1,500 purse); 11,500# Farm Stock Tractors (60% Payback); 8,000# Open Diesel 4X4 Trucks ($1,500 purse – 6 places); and 13,500# Farm Stock Tractors (60% payback).

Saturday’s pull, presented by the Harrison County Agricultural Society, will begin at 7 p.m. and offers the following classes: 6,500# V-8 Hot Rod Tractors under Columbiana County rules ($2,000 purse – 15 places); 10,500# Classic Pro Farm Tractors – Bunker Hill Shootout ($750 purse – 5 places); 7,700# Classic Super Stock Tractors – under COTPA rules ($2,000 purse – 20 places); 6,200# Super Stock 4X4 Trucks – Sanctioned Lucas Oil PPP ($3,600 purse – 12 places); 8,000# 2.6 Diesel 4X4 Truck Class ($1,250 – 6 places); and 9,300# Super Farm/Limited Pro & Light Pro Tractors under OSTPA Rules ($2,000 purse – 10 places).

A Buckeye State Sanctioned Peddle Tractor Pull will be held Saturday, June 6, at 4 p.m. in the Midway Entertainment Tent. Registration will be held from 3 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. Back by popular demand is the adult fun class that will follow the children’s class. There is a $5 entry fee for adults and no prizes will be given. All participants will receive ribbons. Children ages four to twelve may participate (no entry fee). Prizes have been donated by Lakeland Young Farmers, Jody and Melodee Hyde, Toland Trucking and Jefferson Landmark.
