CADIZ – Harrison Hills City Schools will undergo an administrative change this summer as Dr. George Ash departs his post as superintendent to take on a larger role in the area.
Board members approved his resignation during Thursday’s regular session and awarded Administrative Assistant Dana Snider with a five-year contract to succeed him as district leader.
Dr. Ash plans to leave Aug. 1 to become superintendent of the Jefferson County Educational Service Center, which serves schools in Harrison and Jefferson counties.
He has been part of the district for about seven years, one of which was as principal of the former Harrison Junior High School (now Harrison North Elementary) in Scio. Dr. Ash briefly left the district but returned as assistant superintendent before taking the top post in January of 2010.
