FREEPORT – TJ’s Gas N Go is looking vastly different these days with added customer convenience.
Co-owners Jim and Tana Fortney built an estimated 2,000-square-foot addition to their business along 237 E. Main St. in an effort to give patrons something extra. The project started this past summer with the space up and running by the new year. The expanse incorporates a cooking area and more cooler space while a new coffee bar and booth seating was added in another part of the store.
The added cooking area also brings an expanded menu to satisfy everyone’s hunger. In addition to pizza, burgers and subs, it offers breakfast sandwiches and chicken dinners daily, one-topping pizzas for $8.49 each Sunday and 75-cent Coney dog deals on Tuesdays.
“We added a pressure fryer to deep fry chicken, plus an eight-foot deli case,” said Jim. “We started doing a breakfast program in late December and do sausage biscuits and gravy and muffin and biscuit sandwiches. The breakfast is going very well.”
