NEW ATHENS – Stumptown Steam Threshers Club is still chugging along as its annual reunion show turns 50.

The golden anniversary will be marked on Sept. 8-9 at the show grounds along Ohio 519, which is located one mile west of New Athens between Ohio 9 and U.S. 22. Admission is $3 per day per adult and children under 12 are free. Club memberships are also available for $6 per person and a commemorative badge is included with each membership. The membership is valid for admission to both days while commemorative plates and mugs show will also be sold.

Earthmovers and other massive machines will be in motion during the annual Old Mining and Equipment Show on Sept. 8-9.

Festivities coincide with the 50th Annual Stumptown Steam Threshers Reunion along Ohio 519 outside New Athens and run Saturday from 9 a.m. to dark and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Crowds can view equipment at work at the Harrison County Coal Reclamation and Historical Park and help raise funds to preserve the industrial relics.
