Arson is suspected following a fire at the former Airport Motel along U.S. 22 near Cadiz. Fire officials responded around 3:40 a.m. on Monday but were on the scene until 8 a.m. knocking out hotspots. The site, which has been closed for 30 years, had no utilities and was recently sold for potential development. Fire and law enforcement officials met with an investigator for the state fire marshal’s office and a reward has been posted to help find the culprit or culprits. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 740-942-2197.
