JEWETT – In honor of Memorial Day, the Jewett Ruritan Club will be decorating the entire village with red, white, and blue bows to show their support and respect for the men and women who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and to also honor the many soldiers who have given all for our country to show that they may be gone but never forgotten.
Club President Mike Horn would like to inform the community that the group is currently collecting monetary donations in the hopes of purchasing flag banners to be left on the village’s street poles year round. Donations may be sent to the following address: Jewett Ruritan Club, c/o Mike Horn, PO Box 257, Jewett, Ohio 43986, or they may be dropped off at the following businesses: Citizen’s Bank, Ja-Lin’s, or Valie Market.
The club also recently drew the winning ticket for the Savage Arms Model 62/64 22 L.R. rifle with scope that was engraved with a picture of the Ruritan Memorial Wall. The lucky winner was Dale Norris of Cadiz. The Ruritans would like to thank everyone who bought a ticket for a chance on the one-of-a-kind rifle. Anyone interested in joining the Ruritans, or helping with any of the club’s fundraisers may call President Mike Horn at 740-946-4464 for more information.
