A coal truck took a spill along Ohio 9 near Cadiz in the early afternoon of Oct. 28. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2006 International truck operated by Gordon Lane Vinton, 34, of Washingtonville, was northbound on the route in Cadiz Township shortly before noon when it failed to negotiate a left curve, slid off the right side of the roadway and overturned. It lost its load on the hillside and crews from Cadiz and Westfall’s helped at the scene.

The driver, who was not injured, was later cited for failure to control and traffic was slowed to one lane until the scene was cleared.
