Sally Buffalo Park will be buzzing with two events set during the Oct. 1 weekend. The Cadiz Business Association’s annual Octoberfest celebration is scheduled that Saturday while the Fourth Annual Lucas D. Sedgmer 5K Run/Walk is slated for Sunday, Oct. 2. Octoberfest organizers said the free event is only one day this year but promise to have something for everyone.

Also, the 39th Annual Smithfield Apple Festival is ripe for fun with three days of activities set for Sept. 30-Oct. 2. General Manager Pat Freeland, who also serves as the village’s mayor, said thousands of people pack into town for the three-day celebration and many of the same events are back again.

These events are featured in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald, complete with a full schedule of activities planned for the whole family!
