HOPEDALE – Many elementary school children were not even born when the terrorist attacks took place on Sept. 11, 2001, but programs held that anniversary weekend reminded them about the tragedy and subsequent triumph of the human spirit.
Sgt. Eric Wilson, DARE officer through the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a presentation at Harrison Central Jr./Sr. High, Harrison North and Harrison East Elementary schools on Sept. 9 as time closed in on the 10-year anniversary. Pictured, students have an opportunity to interact with members of the Cadiz and Hopedale Fire Department and EMS and Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.
Details of the school programs and other area 9/11 events are featured in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
