NEW RUMLEY – Only a few months after the U.S. Postal Service released a list of potential sites under review for closure, one Harrison County locale is targeted to shut its doors by the end of this year.

Residents in New Rumley recently learned their post office would be out of operation around November and one patron contacted the News-Herald in opposition of the move. Charles Conrad said he was notified about the closure, which comes four months after a public hearing was held in that community. The post office operated at its current location since September of 1982, but by 2012 it will no longer exist.

Details of the closing can be found in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
