On Aug. 27, Fire Department members fed over one hundred Chicken BBQs at 1 p.m. (pictured above), and the Jewett UMC started off the morning by serving breakfast to early risers from 8-11 a.m. during Jewett’s 1st Annual Community Day. The village and JWCC committee members would like to thank everyone who helped make the day a success, including the Jewett VFW, Jewett VFD, Jewett UMC, and Scio VFD. “Thank you to all of the residents that came out and enjoyed a fun filled day,” Mayor Busby said. “It was wonderful to see the community work together to have such a great time of food and fun.”

Pictured below, over 50 cars were on display at the town’s first annual car show. Car owners from all over Ohio dropped by to enjoy oldies music and some fabulous BBQ, Jewett style. The dunk tank was also a favorite for towns people, each trying their luck at drenching the bank manager, coaches, village officials, and even Police Chief Ron Carter.
