COLUMBUS – With an estimated 1.3 million Ohioans traveling this Labor Day weekend, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reminds motorists: “Every Move You Make, Keep It Safe.” According to ODOT safety experts, in 2010 more than 2,400 Ohio drivers were involved in crashes during the holiday weekend – with nearly 30 percent of the crashes occurring Friday between 10 am and 6 pm. In addition, an eleven year (2000 to 2010) analysis of Labor Day crashes reveals it is the deadliest holiday weekend with 187 fatalities on Ohio roads.

To help motorists plan their trip, ODOT provides a list of on-going construction projects from around the state which could impact their weekend travel. For a complete list of all major construction projects visit<>.
