TAPPAN LAKE – The humid summer weather has brought out plenty of people for water-based recreation, but the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District is stressing safety after a teen nearly drowned in Tappan Lake on Aug. 5. A  16-year-old boy was reportedly swimming in a restricted area and was rescued by friends and passersby. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment but was later released.
