SCIO – The 78th Annual Scio Fall Festival is looking back at one of its main fixtures—Scio Pottery—during upcoming festivities.

Sponsored by the Scio Volunteer Fire Department, Scio American Legion Post 482 and various community groups and businesses, the fall festival has helped raise funds to benefit the fire department and Legion. Events are scheduled for Aug. 17-20 along Main Street and include lots of food and fun. This year’s theme is “Scio Ohio Pottery Co.: The Way We Were,” and focuses on what was once the area’s largest employer from 1933 to 1986. Organizers said the theme reflects past memories and the company was the world’s largest provider of Whiteware dishes.
