Local residents caught a glimpse of a soldier’s life on the frontline during a living history encampment at Scott United Methodist Church June 18. Members of the 30th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company B, of Delaware, pitched tents and displayed items depicting life during the Civil War.
Daylong festivities were held at both Scott UMC and Dickerson Church to commemorate 200 years of Methodism and the birthday of Bishop Matthew Simpson, as well as to recognize local Civil War heroes. Events also tie in with the 150th anniversary of the North-South conflict.
