CLENDENING – Twenty members and friends of the Outdoors Club met on Sunday, May 15, for a two mile hike on the Buckeye Trail in the Clendening Lake area off of S.R. 799. Ray Ferrell, the club’s hiking guide, led the group on a scenic hike to a new bench constructed on the trail and then back to the road.
For the June Club Hike, Ferrell plans to lead an “on road” Buckeye Trail hike from Smyrna down to the Skull Fork Covered Bridge. This is only a 1.9 mile hike and anyone that wants to can stop at this point. For those that want to go on, the hike will continue on the Covered Bridge Road to Dry Ridge Road — making a total of 3.1 miles from Smyrna. The group will meet at the Skull Fork Covered Bridge at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday June 26.
More information on the hike and other upcoming events can be found in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
