History is coming to life this weekend with a Civil War encampment at Scott United Methodist Church grounds from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The 30th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company B, of Delaware, will stage a living history event on June 18 at both Scott United Methodist and Dickerson Churches. Roughly 10 infantrymen and other visitors will reconstruct what life was like during wartime with an encampment on Scott UMC grounds, while local historians will depict the lives of Capt. Joe Dickerson and Bishop Matthew Simpson. Pictured here are OVI members at a different encampment event, while the church programs cap off a year of celebrations to mark 200 years of Methodism and the birth of Bishop Simpson.
