CADIZ – Gerald N. Magliocca professor of Law Grimes Fellow is working on a biography of John Bingham.

John Bingham was a Republican congressman, judge advocate in the trial of the Abraham Lincoln assassination, prosecutor in the impeachment trials of Andrew Johnson, principal framer of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. He was born in Pennsylvania then eventually moved to Ohio. He then studied law at Franklin College. Upon admission to the bar, he opened a legal practice in 1840 in Cadiz.

Magliocca will be at the Puskarich Public Library on May 4 at 6 p.m. to share his thoughts on Bingham and his planned research.
