SMITHFIELD – Hounds’ Haven, Inc. invites you to join them as they host a first-ever cooperative effort in animal care and control here in the Ohio Valley. This weekend, Hounds’ Haven will host the RASCAL UNIT, a state-of-the-art mobile veterinary clinic, at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Volunteers from Hounds’ Haven, the Belmont County Animal Shelter and Harrison County’s Ohio Valley Animal League will coordinate a major spay/neuter clinic called FELINE FIX-IT, where the veterinary staff will perform more than 130 spay/neuter surgeries and other medical services.
This is the first time that organizations from these three counties have joined forces to take an active role in compassionate feline care and efforts to control the cat overpopulation problem in the Ohio Valley.
The RASCAL UNIT is set to arrive at Friendship Park Saturday, April 2 at 8 a.m. and will remain onsite through Sunday afternoon, April 3. For more information, contact Robin Cibulka at 740-733-8546 or Marjie DeFede at 740-859-0685.
