I remember when the Legion Home was owned by the Sharon Family. I remember the Memorial day parades down Charleston St. with the Cadiz High School marching band leading the way. I remember the legion color guards, World War 1 vets. as the Honor guard. There was even a civil war vet , Mr. Barret? who rode in a car.
At the cannon they would read Fields of Flandres and Judge John Worley , a WW1 vet,. usualy gave a speech, then the firing squad would fire, and us kids wouls scramble to get the spent casings.
Does any of that go on in Casdiz any more??
