A member of the Harrison News-Herald staff will soon be showcasing his artistic talents at venues across the tri-state area. Gerald Van Scyoc has been a graphic designer at the newspaper for more than a year, but his true passion has been painting.
Van Scyoc, of Shadyside, has been churning out works since 2002 and will be showing those creations in art shows in Pittsburgh, Wheeling and St. Clairsville over the next few months. All of the 22 renderings he created over the past nine years will be exhibited in various combinations.
Pictured above is “Jupiter, 1776,” one of several paintings that will be on display at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts in Pittsburgh, Pa. and The Stifel Fine Arts Center in Wheeling, W.Va.
Van Scyoc’s venues, history and diverse talents are featured in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
