FREEPORT – Questions are being raised surrounding the former Harrison Lakeland School as a village group continues its plan to acquire the building.
Members of the Harrison Youth Group met Monday to discuss recent talks with Harrison Hills City School District officials on the heels of the school board’s decision to place the property back on the auction block. District leaders announced at a recent meeting that the Freeport Township Trustees declined an offer to purchase the property for $1, but a statement from the trustees indicates the school board declined their counterproposal. Further update concerning the counterproposal and prospect of a charter school can be found in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
Is it just me or does it seem like Cadiz is trying to get everything they can get at the cost of what’s best for the children?
Cadiz is the only community that would take responsibility for these properties!
