HOPEDALE – Auctions are set this month regarding two schools recently closed in the Harrison Hills City School District.

Harrison Lakeland Elementary School in Freeport goes up for bid on Nov. 24 at 3 p.m. and items inside Harrison Jewett Elementary are up for sale this weekend. Jewett Village Council recently agreed to purchase the village school for $1 and the items inside were being auctioned on Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.

District Treasurer Roxane Harding said three parcels at Lakeland are available and the event is being coordinated through Homeland Realty and auctioneer David Jones.

“It’s going to be auctioned in three parcels as well as combined,” she said. “We’re auctioning the property, the building and the timber.”

Further information regarding the auction can be found in the November 13 print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
