ADENA – The Adena American Legion is holding Poppy Days on Friday, May 28 and Saturday May 29. The sale is held in the town square in Adena and the poppies are sold through donation only. According to Poppy Chairman Libby Ostojich, the poppy was adopted as the auxiliary’s memorial flower at the 1921 National Convention as a representation of those whose lives were lost serving their country. Featured l-r, Louis Basich (Army Air Corp.), Anthony Bolarski (Army), Ferruccio Tabacchi (Army Air Force), Libby Ostojich, George Young (Navy), Harry Thompson (Navy, Army) and Frank Prevot (Navy). These men have the longest continuous membership in the Adena American Legion Post 525 with 64 years each. Memorial Day Services will also be held at the Legion at 11 a.m.
