Cadiz – This was the first year for the Easter Choir Festival held at Scott Memorial United Methodist Church. The Harrison County Association of Churches put on the festival. The sanctuary was pack and the crowd was enthusiastic to hear the local church choirs perform.
The churches in attendance were the First Church of Christ, St. James A.M.E., Harrison Hills Church, Nazarene Church, Cadiz Presbyterian, and Scott Memorial United Methodist Church.
The churches performed a wide variety of music including traditional hymns, contemporary Christian music, and other genres. In total 16 hymns and other compilations were performed.
Rev. Richard Hasley commented that, “the event was wonderful and folks love music around here, so I imagine we will be doing this again next year.”
The next community service will be the Community Lenten Service on Good Friday. This will take place at the First Church of Christ on April 2 at 7 P.M.  All are welcomed to attend!
